- clean the studio and
- create a comfortable place to display the work
- ask questions to better understand what the buyer likes and where the art will be displayed
- Listen to the answers
- Offer matting and framing ideas
- yet let the buyer decide
- have fun with the conversation
- allow the buyer to prepay
- give myself a delivery deadline
Happy Printing!

great list. How did the buyer find you? I hope s/he comes back for more.
Just wondering, did you discuss (or announce) any agreement for what happens if the buyer doesn't like the end result? It's a problem I ran into recently. How do you handle that?
Hi Linda - She is a long time fan but just became ready to buy something. I am just matting to finish, so I do not anticipate dissatisfaction, but that is why I am hesitant to do commission work. My process is so experimental, and imposing expectations usually inhibits the process. Sorry to hear about your problem I hope something can be worked out.
